How to Anticipate (And Defuse) Audience Pushback Before It Happens

Think of your behavior as a regular consumer for a second.

When you're deciding whether to buy a product in a retail store or online, you likely ask yourself all sorts of questions, such as:

"Will this solve my problem?"

"Will it be easy to set up?"

"Did this work for other people?"

"Can I find a better deal elsewhere?"

Your audience will undergo the same evaluation process when you publish your sponsorship, so you must proactively brainstorm what objections they might raise.

There are a few easy ways you can do this:

  • Read reviews for the product or service. Are there common complaints or questions? Your audience is likely to have the same ones.

  • Look through online forums where people are posting about issues they're having.

  • Read through the comment sections on posts from past partners they hired.

Once you've identified a short list of potential objections, you can address them head-on in your concept.
